Claim a position and it's yours — nobody else can take it. Crew call is before first whistle, not at it. If something comes up, drop the shift here rather than leaving a camera unstaffed.
What each role does
Line Producer
Runs the shoot before anyone presses record — books the crew, confirms call time and gear, and is the one point of contact with the athletic department if something changes.
Director
Calls the game from a headset — decides which camera goes to air moment to moment, and keeps the whole crew moving as one unit instead of five people guessing.
Technical Director
Executes the director's calls at the switcher — cutting between cameras, rolling replays, and punching in graphics live, with no do-overs.
Camera Operator
Owns one angle for the whole game — framing, following the play, and holding a steady, in-focus shot the director can actually cut to. This is Camera 1–5 on the board below.
